WHAT YOU CAN DO

Support us to eliminate trash and litter.

The festival area is an open place. If you bring beverages and food please throw away empty bottles and other kind of trash or take them home with you. Moreover broken bottles of glass are dangerous to visitors especially to kids.

Use public transport or ride your bike.

WHAT WE DO

Every year we work on our goal to create the festival as environmantly friendly as possible.

During the four days of the street festival all traders must use reusable dishes.
Visitors will need to pay a deposit on it.
We support the project "Viva con Agua": Everybody who wants to do a tribute for clean drinkable water in developing countries throws the mug with the deposit on into the offered tons which are pulled across the festival area by members of the project. With the donation the project finances potable water projects around the world.

All used dishes are directly cleaned on the street festival area by the company "Kampen Rent An Event". This saves energy. And gasoline as well because the plates, forks and knifes don't go on a long trip to get washed as this usually is the case.
Ecover supports us with ecological friendly detergent which is an other essential to protect our environment.

The Carnival booklet is printed on recycled paper (140.000 copys; that's 9 tons of paper).

We have chosen clean energy for the street festival and therefore recduce Greenhouse Gas emission.

The "green area" on Zossener Straße offers space for companies and projects which want to present their work and engagement concerning environmental and social issues. In here visitors also find innovative products or can stop by for a certified organic snack.
